Insulated panels

Since 1985, Joris Ide has been designing and manufacturing quality metal building materials locally. Our insulated panels for roofing and cladding are developed to strict specifications, meeting the requirements of building professionals. They provide high-performance insulation, are easy to install and look good, making them suitable for all types of project.

The different types of insulated metal panels

Composed of two sheets of metal with an insulating core of PIR foam or mineral wool, insulated panels can be tailored to meet the thermal, acoustic, and fire resistance requirements of buildings. Available in a variety of profiles and finishes, insulated panels are a standard feature of metal envelope projects, combining technical performance with aesthetic appeal.

What are the advantages of insulated panels?

The essentials

  • Insulated panels combine the benefits of metal sheets with the performance of PIR foam or mineral wool insulation.

  • Based on simple installation principles familiar to installers, building wall cladding is quick and easy to install.

  • Suitable for sloped roofs or wall cladding, insulated panels are a lightweight solution, ideal for limiting loads on the structure.

  • Imitation tile, imitation slate, standing seam or hidden fixings - insulated panels come in a variety of finishes and colours.

Insulated metal panels

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most frequently asked questions below.

What's an insulated metal panel and what is it used for?

An insulated panel is a building component made up of two metal sheets enclosing an insulating core, typically made of PIR (polyisocyanurate) foam or mineral wool. This multi-layered system is designed to provide effective thermal and acoustic insulation while serving as a covering for roofs and façades. Insulated panels are especially valued for their light weight and rigidity, which allow for quick installation and reduce the need for structural support. Commonly used in industrial, commercial, and residential projects, they offer a combination of high-performance insulation, mechanical strength, and weather protection.

What are the differences between PIR foam and mineral wool insulated panels?

PIR foam and mineral wool insulated panels differ in their thermal insulation performance and fire resistance. PIR foam offers superior thermal insulation with better conductivity, allowing for thinner panels and improved energy efficiency. However, it is not non-combustible and has lower fire resistance compared to mineral wool. On the other hand, mineral wool panels are non-combustible and provide better fire protection, along with superior acoustic insulation. The choice depends on the project’s priorities: opt for PIR foam when thermal performance and lightness are key, or choose mineral wool to enhance fire safety and acoustic performance.

Can insulated panels be used for both roofing and cladding?

Insulated panels are suitable for both roofing and cladding applications. On roofs, they provide effective insulation while ensuring watertightness thanks to their fixing system and joint design. For cladding, they protect façades from the elements and offer an insulating solution while enhancing the building’s appearance. Their versatility makes them a popular choice for industrial, commercial, and residential projects.
