Joris Ide x Primagaz Bretagne (France)
Planet Passionate
Starting in 2024, Joris Ide's French sites have embraced the use of BioLPG forklifts, marking a significant step in the division’s sustainability journey. Two contracts have already been signed for this initiative at Lempdes and Saint-Caradec. These sites have partnered with the same biopropane supplier used in Belgium, where Joris Ide received its first BioLPG delivery in July 2022. In France, the first delivery took place in Lempdes in May 2024, followed by Saint-Caradec in July 2024.
In 2023, France accounted for 9% of Joris Ide Division's total carbon footprint, equating to 630 tons of CO₂ equivalent (TCO₂e). By the end of 2024, this figure is set to be halved, thanks to two major changes: the adoption of renewable electricity contracts at sites not yet utilizing green energy, and the switch to BioLPG in Lempdes and Saint-Caradec.

This transition has significantly boosted the division’s renewable energy usage while reducing its carbon footprint. It directly supports the “Energy” and “Carbon” pillars of the Planet Passionate goals for 2030, which include achieving Net Zero Carbon for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and increasing direct renewable energy usage to 60%.
BioLPG, produced from a blend of vegetable oils and food-industry waste streams, is entirely renewable. It offers up to an 80% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to conventional propane gas, making it a crucial component in Joris Ide’s path toward a more sustainable future.
