Solar panels
energy
At the beginning of 2024, there are a total of 6185 kWp of solar panels on the roofs of Joris Ide Division. About 5.1 GWh of electricity is generated per year. That total is equivalent to the energy consumption of nearly 1460 households. With solar panel projects still in the planning, 8.1 Gwh could be generated in Joris Ide Division by the end of 2024.
Hille, Zwevezele, Belgium
The solar installation at Hille is our biggest one yet with a total of 1087kWp. A part of the panels were installed on the roof of the purlin department, another part was installed at our main offices. The installation was completed in December 2020.
Mafer & Isometall, Belgium
The already existing 250 kWp installation at Isometall that has been there since 2014 will be expanded to 1365 kWp in Q4 2024. The installation will thus be 5.5 times its current size. At Mafer, the existing installation of 250kWp was doubled in 2020. In both sites, the electricity from the solar panels will be supplemented by green electricity from the grid.
Further expansion of solar panels
In October 2023, a new PV installation was laid on the roof of the Onnaing site, accounting for 350 kWp. In addition to the expansion in Isometall, 3 more new solar PV projects are planned for France in 2024: JI Atlantique, JI Auvergne and JI Bretagne and one in Germany, Hildesheim.
