Joris Ide aims to increase both the use and on-site generation of renewable energy. By continuously installing solar panels across our sites, we reduce our reliance on non-renewable energy sources.
By early 2026, more than 24,000 solar panels had been installed across the JI Division, with a total capacity of 9,283 kWp, generating around 8.5 GWh of electricity per year – equivalent to the annual consumption of nearly 2,900 households*.
By 2030, our target is for 60% of our total energy consumption to come from renewable sources, with solar panels installed at all Joris Ide Division-owned sites.

Solar panels at Isometall
The existing 250 kWp solar installation at Isometall, in operation since 2014, was expanded to 1,250 kWp in 2025 – making it five times larger and the largest PV installation across the JI Division.
This expansion supports the electrification of Isometall’s first panel line, which has significantly increased the site’s electricity demand.
Further expansion of solar capacity
In 2025, new solar installations were also added at JI Est, JI Atlantique and JI Normandie, representing a combined capacity of 695 kWp.
Further projects are planned for 2026, including the rollout of a new PV installation at JI Bretagne.
Energy Management System
The third energy target concerns ISO 50001. This target was introduced in 2025 and states that all priority sites - those consuming more than 5 GWh of energy per year - must be ISO 50001 certified by 2030. The aim of this target is to embed energy efficiency across the entire company.
The first site to achieve ISO 50001 certification was Ansbach. In July 2026, the site successfully completed its ISO 50001 audit. Next to this, Hille, Akkerstraat, and Ruddervoorde are also currently working through the process of obtaining this certification by the end of 2026.
