Our roadmap toward Planet Passionate
Planet Passionate
In 2011, we launched the "Net Zero Energy" programme. This programme was completed in 2020, after which the ambitious and global sustainability programme Planet Passionate was introduced, summarised in 12 targets.
Planet Passionate aims to have a positive impact on three major global challenges:
- Climate change
- Circularity
- Protection of our natural world
The primary focus was on absolute decarbonisation of our own operations (Scope 1 and 2 emissions) and those of our suppliers (Scope 3 emissions), but the use and generation of renewable energy, preservation of our precious water resources, and increasing circularity in our production processes were also included in the targets of the Planet Passionate programme.

We are proud of the progress we have made in the first five years of our Planet Passionate programme, including reaching three of our goals ahead of schedule. The following targets were set for 2030 but were already achieved at Group level in 2024:
- 20% of all energy used must be generated on-site
- Support 5 ocean clean-up projects
- 1 billion PET bottles recycled in our production processes

Looking ahead to 2025–2030, the programme has been adjusted to align with our current and future growth path. This includes the addition of four new targets to replace those achieved ahead of schedule, as well as an update to our existing carbon targets. The new objectives focus on improving energy efficiency, increasing our use of recycled and renewable raw materials, and implementing take-back and recycling programmes in key markets. Below are the 4 new targets for 2030:
- 15% reduction in carbon intensity of our key raw materials by 2030
- ISO 50001 certification of our priority sites – this is an energy efficiency target for sites consuming more than 5 GWh of energy per year
- Use 220 000 tonnes of recycled raw materials by 2030
- Launch 3 take-back/recycling schemes to ensure our product is collected at end of life and (partly) recycled and/or reused

Being Planet Passionate goes beyond our targets. We hope that everyone in our group finds a way to embody the Planet Passionate idea in their own environment, by taking actions that make a difference in terms of climate change, circularity, and the protection of our natural world.
