Planet Passionate week
Every September, we celebrate Planet Passionate Week across Joris Ide. During this week, our teams take part in a variety of activities that raise awareness, encourage more sustainable habits and bring our Planet Passionate programme to life.
From workshops and team challenges to clean-up actions and outdoor activities, each initiative gives colleagues the opportunity to learn, take action and contribute in a practical way.
Planet Passionate Week is also a moment to come together, share ideas and highlight the role we can all play in building a more sustainable future.
Plant action
In February 2024, colleagues and their families planted nearly 2,800 native trees in Zedelgem, creating a new 1.3-hectare forest in a Natura 2000 area. Guided by Bosgroep Houtland, the planting is now developing into a biodiverse and climate-resilient forest, supporting the local environment for many years to come.
Clean-up actions
Over the past years, colleagues across Joris Ide have taken part in various clean-up initiatives in Belgium and France. Teams have collected litter around our sites and surrounding areas, while employees and their families also joined a beach clean-up in Wenduine, helping prevent waste from entering the North Sea.
These actions are a simple but practical way for our teams to contribute to cleaner local environments.
